Very friendly staff and the owner of the hotel personally receives his guests, surrounds them with care about their stay, offers several dishes to choose from not only for breakfast but also throughout the day. Very tasty food. There is always hot tea and coffee with toast and cookies. The rooms are clean and cozy with modern quiet air conditioners, a refrigerator, high-speed WiFi access. The location is in a very quiet clean area. Within walking distance are BigC and 7/11 stores, many cafes and massage parlors, a little more than a kilometer to the large Robinson and Makro shopping centers. I rented a bicycle and a motorbike at the hotel. Many thanks to Khun Nui for his care of his guests, who become friends.

The staff was very friendly! The girl who did the reception was so nice and the boy who helped around was just fantastic! Exceptional work! The hotel is located at a very nice location with lots of local restaurants and such. Would 100% recommend and stay there again.

We opted for the King Room for the slight increase in price and cannot fault a single thing. Huge clean quiet room, big fridge, great luggage area, comfy bed and bedding (typical hard Thai mattress). The shower is the best shower we’ve experienced in Thailand - great pressure and actually gets hot. The breakfast was incredible (beef noodle soup) and complimentary water/fruit/crackers was a nice touch. The owner is fantastic. We had a car to get around and could park in front of the property.

A very nice, pleasant and capable host. A charming fellow. Everything was as described. It was an easy stay - and I stayed for two weeks. Bicycle was borrowed easily and the scooter to rent worked fine. Clean room and cleaned daily (as you request). The downstairs rooms are okay for a short stay, but they lack windows onto light - but okay for the price. Nearby (15 mins stroll on foot) are a few Myanmar-run and Thai-run restaurants.

The owner/manager is very accommodating and gracious. The Retro is like a time capsule in a very nice mubon. The neighbors smile and people are generally friendly. This is real Thailand. Although the border region and Mae Sot is known for some difficulties, Retro remains a comfortable, solid place to get a good night's sleep.

I feel like home every time I stay there, I use to stay there when I get to Mae Sot as it's the cheapest with the most comfortable and convenient facilities.

The room is very spacious with a fridge and places to sit to eat or do some work. The bed is comfy and there is air conditioning to ensure you stay cool. Very helpful and friendly staff.
